    Seeking a capable, motivated and flexible IT resource who can perform dual roles of a Systems and Database administrator.     Location: Watertown, MA

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage VMware, Microsoft Windows and Linux servers hosted in a co-location datacenter
    • Manage compute and storage on Public Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
    • Install OS, configure, upgrade and harden servers
    • Manage Windows Active Directory Infrastructure
    • Manage MS Windows Clustering for File Share and SQL Clusters
    • Implement server and MS SQL DB tuning/configuration changes
    • Manage backend storage infrastructure (arrays and SAN) at the co-location datacenter
    • Backup/restore server, application and database for business continuity
    • Monitor system logs and identify/resolve problems proactively.
    • Create, maintain and update system documentation

     

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum 5 years of System Administration experience in a Windows and Linux server environment
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with supporting VMware virtualized infrastructure
    • Minimum 2 years of experience with backend storage infrastructure (array and SAN)
    • Minimum 2 years of experience of managing MS SQL database environments
    • Minimum 2 years of experience of managing compute and storage on public cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
    • Basic troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills
    • Basic understanding of native VMware IO multipathing
    • Basic knowledge of server and MS SQL DB performance monitoring and tuning
    • Working knowledge of Windows PowerShell or Unix shell scripting
    • Ability to work under pressure, multiple deadlines and minimal supervision
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
