    Seeking a capable, motivated and flexible IT resource who can perform dual roles of a Database and Systems administrator.     Location: Watertown, MA

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, Configure, upgrade MS SQL servers
    • Implement MS server and MS SQL DB tuning/configuration changes
    • Manage MS SQL Clusters
    • Implement server and MS SQL DB tuning/configuration changes
    • Backup/restore SQL databases for business continuity
    • Monitor system logs and identify/resolve problems proactively.
    • Create, maintain and update system documentation
    • Familiarity with Virtual Environments for server configuration (VMware vSphere)
    • Create, maintain and update system documentation

     

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience of managing MS SQL database environments
    • Minimum 1 years of System Administration experience in a Windows and Linux server environment
    • Basic understanding of supporting VMware virtualized infrastructure
    • Basic understanding of supporting backend storage infrastructure (array and SAN)
    • Basic understanding of managing compute and storage on public cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
    • Basic troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills
    • Willing to learn new products and solutions
    • Good verbal and written communication skills

     

    Key Technical Skills:

     

    OS: MS Windows, RHEL, CentOS

    Public Cloud: AWS, GCP

    Virtualization: VMware

    Clustering: MS Windows Clustering, MS SQL Clustering
